Callaway specialise in producing faster versions of the Chevrolet Corvette. They upgrade the standard 5.7 litre Corvette V8 (which in standard tune is no slouch!) by various means including turbocharging. Callaway also rework the standard bodywork of the Corvette on some of their models, one of which is the C12 which is modelled here by AUTOart.

The C12 starts out as a 5th generation Corvette (C5) coupe with a removable targa style roof. the front end is substantially remodelled, the most obvious difference being the deletion of the pop up headlights and their replacement with a handsome set of "fingernail" style twin headlights. Personally I feel they greatly improve the look of the Corvette. A new mesh covered front grill, extended "skirts" at the sides and a new rear end (with the same lights as found on the much smaller Opel Tigra coupe) complete the transformation.

The C12 also has an incredible set of chromed alloy wheels which frankly look stunning! I'd love a set of them in real life! The interior has two tone trim, but otherwise is standard Corvette.

AUTOart make this model, and it is very nice indeed. It is well made and up to their usual high standards. They also make it in yellow, red and in a blue colour with silver designs on the bodywork. The last version is a special car representing a Cystic Fibrosis charity, and a portion of the price of that model goes to support research into cystic fibrosis.
